The things that went well for us were that we cut our potatoes pretty neat and even. We all cut our own potatoes into our desired shape and use the knifes skills we learned in class. We made various shapes of fries such as wedges, stick fries and chips.
2) What didn’t go well
The things that didn’t go so well were when I was going to take the fries out to be flipped, I forgot to open the oven door a bit to let the heat out. In result of burning my face. Also when I went to flip the fries, I flipped some of the fries with my fingers and I ended up burning my hand.
3) What would you do differently?
The things I would do differently would probably be to make more shapes of the fries because I would’ve had more practice cutting the potatoes into different shapes using different cuts. I would also have added some ketchup with my fries.
4) What did you learn
The things I learned were how to make fries and a lot of knife skills. We learned how to use a Santoku knife. This knife id really a neat knife because you can use it to pickup what you cut. It also looks really cool. The videos we watched in class taught us a lot of useful knife techniques.
